Any body been in this situation with the council?
Hi Iv been on the council since the start of the year and I’m trying to navigate the current council process which I can never get a straight answer on.
I’m a man with two children I am lucky enough to have been awarded a band 2 with regards to my situation and having class 1 autism, as I have left the family home due to a relationship breakdown now classed as sofa surfing for the last 7 months I’m still trying to figure out where I stand ie with regards to what iam entitled to I can bid on 2 bedroom property but end up in the hight 20/30s on the houses but considerably lower on the flats is this because I am classed as a single person with access to his children and not a family ?
Also recently I was successful with a bid I placed on a flat was offered the property via email on Tuesday but by the Friday was told by phone call from the council the property has massive flooding from the above flat then them says it would take months to fix so they re opened my house account so I could start bidding again has anybody been in this position or similar to this situation before ?

If your children do not live with you then you won't be entitled to a bedroom for them. As a single person you'll only be entitled to 1 bedroom properties. This is likely why you have been low on the list for 2 bedroom properties.
