PIP isn't awarded based on any diagnosis. Whether there's any entitlement will depend on how those conditions affect you.

The first stage is to request the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR) You have 1 month from the date of the decision to request this and you should put it in writing, please do not ring to request it.

You should state where and why you think you should have scored those points. When you filled out the form if you didn't give a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies you should also do that. Include detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see It and what the consequences were.

It helps to have some understanding of the descriptors too, I'd advise you to have a read of this before requesting the MR. This will you hopefully know whether enough of points can be scored for an award. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteria

Hi @hxx, welcome to the community. So sorry to hear that your PIP was refused, it's not an easy process sometimes. Lots of our members have been through it, so you're not alone.

Poppy's given some great advice already, but I'll pop your post over into our PIP section just so more members can find it, I hope that's okay with you. I just wanted to say hello first 😊

    hiya :)

As poppy has said, it’s about how it affects you rather than the disorder itself. I suffered from it until I had a hysterectomy so I do understand how awful it is.

If they did an assessment ring them and ask them for the assessment report and read through it carefully and outline what you don’t agree with and a detailed response to why you don’t agree with each factor and how your daily living is suffering with the factors you haven’t scored on.

if you have medical evidence now is the time to start collecting that as you will need to submit it all to court if you decide to go for a tribunal. It is worth getting a doctors letter outlining how your condition effects you daily and also any proof of appointments for gynaecology etc or scans.
