What is OT housing needs? How to get this?

When you say OT housing needs I assume you're speaking about an Occupational Therapist doing a housing needs assessment?
It's an assessment where an Occupational Therapist assesses your living conditions and if any adaptations can be made to help you around the house with whatever disability you have.
You generally get one by contacting your local authority. If you rent you will need your landlords permission for any physical changes on the house!
Scope has an advice article about it here:0 -

Are you on the housing list? If not then you will need to apply first and get your name on the list, assuming you qualify. All local authorities are different and for me when I applied last April for social housing I told them I had a health condition and that living in my current home was difficult. I was successful with my name on the list but was put into bank D, which is also zero chance of ever being rehoused. I was also send a form to fill in to give details about my health condition.
Fast forward a few months and I had my 2nd needs assessment because my health condition was worse and it became even more difficult to get upstairs and get into the bath and shower. After that assessment a stairlift and new bathroom adaptions for walk in shower was advised. I was privately renting at the time and my landlord refused to allow the adaptions. My OT then contacted the LA to speak to them on my behalf, she then sent the full assessment report to them and they used that to bump me up the list to urgent medical priority and that was in August 2023. I was then allowed to bid on adapted properties. I placed 5 bids in total between Sept and Dec 2023. Mid Dec I was contacted and offered a 2 bed adapted house. I viewed it, accepted it and collected the keys a few days or so later. Then I moved in, in mid Jan 2024.
For the needs assessment you need to refer yourself to your LA using the link I posted above. An Occupational Therapist will then contact you to do the needs assessment in your home. If adaptions can be done on your current home they will consider that first. If they can't then this may help your housing band. However, even with medical priority you could still be waiting a considerable length of time to be rehoused. I hope this helps.

Poppy and I have both posted links, you need to start with those.
If you need support to use those links, a local advice agency will be able to assist, you can find somewhere here:

I've advised you twice on where to start and also told you my experience with what I did. Please have another read through all the advice you've been given and also have a read of all the links. I don't know what else or how else to advise.
