PIP Washing and bathing querie
Hey, so looking at the washing bathing section.
I have a balance disorder that means i cant shower due to falling over and water getting in my ears causing dizziness. Hypothetically if i had to shower i would need to be sitting down. However I can have a bath with no trouble most of the time, I use the side of the bath to get out and in but thats it
I am unsure what this means in regards to pip if anything

I had a look on a few sites and the consensus seems to be that you need to consider both and if you can't do one but you can do the other then you may qualify for points
It's maybe worth noting that reasonable or readily accessible aids that lots of people use (like a hand rail) you use don't count as aids, but if you need special aids then that does count

Thanks, thats what i was thinking but its not very clear.
So it probably sounds like 2 points, were i to us a shower I would need an aid to do it safely. I dont need help getting in or out just while im in there.

It's how it affects you the way you used to live. Would you usually take showers over baths? If so, even if you take baths, they take longer than a shower. And if you take baths because of your condition that can fall under PIP. Because it doesn't just matter if you can do it, it matters if it takes you longer to do the task as well.
