Trying new things

I often like trying new things but even like new versions of mundane things like obviously new foods but even new flavours of shampoo or mouthwash. Even stupid things like razors, they don't have a smell or taste so you'd think that someone would be happy when they find brand of razor that they get on with and stick with it, but I get the urge to try a different one when I need to buy them 🤔

Does anyone else do this??? I know that NOT trying new things and sticking with what you know and is safe is a well known thing, but does anyone get the urge to just get something different every time??

Flavours of shampoo? You might be using that wrong! 😄

I hate change and adapting to anything new. But I do change scent for shower gel, soap and deodorant pretty much every time. Sometimes it's a totally new scent, other times it's one I've had before. I find it helps manage time as well, all the weeks and months can merge together when every day is the same otherwise.

@OverlyAnxious yes with me it's often going back to ones I've had before but just it makes a change from buying the same thing as last time. In truth with OCD you can't really buy a completely novel soap every time as, at the rate you get through soap, there'd quickly be nothing new left 😂

I love trying new things! Though, I do have some things that make it difficult to try new things in certain areas. Like I don't try new shampoos because I used to have awful dandruff until I found a shampoo that doesn't cause issues, so I stick with that 😋

I mostly like learning new things, new subjects, new topics, new skills.

I must admit I have a habit of buying the same things over and over again. I think its with my autism and liking routines although I sometimes switch. Like lately I have been more on the healthier eating side and eating more vegetables than meat and using substitues. But other things like shampoo, cleaning stuff, and other things I always buy the same ones.

It's odd, as an autistic person, I'd have thought change is something I'd hate, but I love trying new things which is possibly the ADHD rearing its head. But I also know sometimes it's best to stick to things I know work for me.

I'm a sucker for snazzy packaging too and random 3am Amazon purchases. 😆
