Don't forget to vote on the 4th of July 2024!

Hey folks. Here at Scope we like to keep things politically neutral, but we do like to encourage everyone to use their voice and get out there to vote on the 4th of July. 😎
Here's a few top tips to remember;
Don't forget your ID. Here's a handy link that tells you which ID will be valid. Please remember it must be the original photo ID, they wont accept photos of your ID. BUT you can use ID that is out of date, as long as you still look like you in the photograph and the name on the ID matches the name on the electoral register.
If you've organised a proxy vote, please make sure your proxy takes their own ID and not yours.
If you've lost your polling card, you can still vote. But you can only vote at that one polling station.
Once you know which polling station to go to, check times. Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on July 4th.
Turn up to the polling station, give your name and address, show them your ID, then the lovely and helpful clerk will give you your voting slip. Then follow the instructions that will be posted around, go into your polling booth, then exercise your democratic right to vote! The slip will have instructions on how to fold and where to place your completed voting slip, so do just that, thank the clerks and strut out of the polling station. Hooray, you've just voted!
If you have a disability, your local Electoral Registration Office can tell you about:
-Physical access, for example wheelchair ramps and disabled parking spaces
-Low-level polling booths
-Any specific equipment you need
Every polling station must provide at least one large print display version of the ballot paper.

My cousin drops in on Fridays butt I have said not this week because I'll be asleep having been up all night, though that might be an inflated idea of my current energy levels, not totally sure I can make it through to sunrise any more!

I can totally empathise @Cantilip gone are the days of me being able to pull all nighters, my body wont let me anymore. I'll be staying up for a bit later than usual, but then getting some rest so I can be back on the community on Friday morning to see you lovely lot. 😊

There's an old poem:
Grown-Up
by
Edna St. Vincent MillayWas it for this I uttered prayers,
And sobbed and cursed and kicked the stairs,
That now, domestic as a plate,
I should retire at half-past eight?From A Few Figs From Thistles (Frank Shay, 1920; Harper & Brothers,1922)
This poem is in the public domain.1
