Plan to check Accounts

What happened to the plan to check bank accounts. I saw something elsewhere saying it had been stopped but i'm not sure if it's correct?

A General election was called so that stopped those proposals.

As far as I am aware it has been put on hold. I imagine we will know soon what a future government has plans to do.
