The Little Victories Discussion.
I know how easy it is to get weighed down in things that have been going wrong in life, especially currently with all the election panic and people worrying about their benefits.
So I thought we could do something nice to build each other up a bit. So post here with your little wins each day, no matter how small they may feel to you, they could be a huge win to someone else and they all add up over time. π
So to start;
My little victory is I remembered to eat breakfast today.
Ok, over to you!

I remembered to put the bins out on time! I've only forgot a few times, but it's a little victory when I do still!

Has anyone ever played that game where you put the wrong bin out to confuse the neighbourhood then change it for the correct one after everyone else has copied you and put the wrong one out???

I don't think I can be that mean, because I'm often the person who looks at what other bins are out π€£
I managed to get out into the garden and pick some berries today! Another little victory, I've been meaning to do it the past few days.

@66Mustang You would be snookered if you looked at my street when the bins go out, some people put all 3 out and just leave them till they're emptied π

Good morning all. I have superb neighbours who help me and are great. I canβt put by bins out due to my heart problems and angina. He puts them out and brings them in after emptying.
Iβve had a couple of admissions to hospital in the last 4 years and he feeds and looks after my dogs and cat. Andy is worth his weight in gold.

my small win is letting the electrician in so he can put up an electric window in for me, I've cancelled him about ten times so far due to anxiety. Along with the carpenter, think housing are really fed up with me! still have to phone them to book in the gas man to replace my boiler, it's an all day job, just thinking about it my anxiety has shot through the roof.

Sometimes you get a big bunch of flowers, virtually speaking. Just got a really fulsome apology from someone who hadn't read all the correspondence and had queried something I'd explained in January.

Well, despite my fear of phones, I managed to call the DWP to ask for a copy of my PIP assessors report. It's taken me three weeks to pluck up the courage. π

I've been in an on going battle with my very sweet but overweight dog and his new diet food. π He's refused to eat it, he's spat it out and because I haven't been completely mean and have slowly introduced it with his old food, he's been sorting it out in his bowl. I honestly don't know how he manages to pick the bits out?!?!? and as an extra insult he spits the bits of kibble out onto the floor !!!π But today I had a little victory and he finally ate some π ( he isn't happy)

I adopted Lady in March 2022 who was overweight. I reduced the amount of food she was getting. Within 6 months I had got her weight down. She is over 10 years of age and is not an energetic dog and has arthritis so the weight loss was essential.

Itβs not easy to refuse your pets demands for treats. I still get yelled at (barked) by both my dogs when they think itβs time for a treat or food. The cat is even worse. Thomas stands on me and meows directly into my face when he doesnβt get his treats. It does help that Iβm a diabetic and have no biscuits or sweet treats in the house. Myself and the pets all have healthy diets.
Keep going with your dogβs diet. You will win in the end and have a healthier dog as well.

I thought I'd resurrect this old discussion as I think we all really need to be looking at some positives in our lives right now and remind ourselves it's not all doom and gloom. The little victories add up!
Today my little victory is making it up the stairs unaided in under a minute. π

Great idea to get this going again π
My little victory today was having a good nap on my lunch break without oversleeping!

Great idea for a thread and I am enjoying reading other people's replies.
My victory was to use the self service till. If I am treating myself to a big bar of chocolate, it must be scanned by me. It's amazing how that incentive helped. π I still prefer a person, but I am trying to keep up with the world I live in.

I'm trying to cut back on my caffeine consumption so my little victory is that I've not yet had any caffeinated drinks today!

My little victory is that I played some piano yesterday and have yet to get any wrist pain from it π
