family drama
Hi,
I know this is a coffee morning so I won't go into too much detail.
I've lived with my parents for my whole life. I love them very much and they love me very much.
I have autism and a complex genetic disease. My parents have never coped with this well. Professionals I talk to worry that they don't treat me right and so do other relatives.
My grandmother says she doesn't like how my Mum is treating me but she isn't with me all the time so can't have a good picture of what's going on.
I agree with her. So how do I know if what other people are telling me is true? if it's inline with how I feel sometimes and I naturally have my own biases?
How to remain objective as possible ?
And how to cope with the outcome because it's already starting to uncover things I didn't see?

I'm going to move this into the Autism and Neurodiversity category where there will hopefully be some members who can share similar experiences 😊
It can be hard to remain objective when you have lots of people telling you things. Maybe keep a diary? That way you can look back at it with fresh eyes. Is there anything in particular that concerns you about how your parents treat you?
Love your pic by the way!
