PIP ASSESSMENT

Hi I’ve just received a tx msg from pip saying my telephone assessment will be in 2 weeks time.Could anyone please tell me if it’s worth mentioning my new diagnosis.My nerves are through the roof atm so any help on this would be greatly appreciated.TIA

Yes you can tell them, although PIP isn’t awarded based on a diagnosis. During the assessment try not to answer any questions with just a yes or no. Try to give as much information as possible.
The assessment can last anywhere from 20 to 120 minutes, sometimes longer. Once the report is returned to DWP a decision can take up to 12 weeks.

Thanks poppy…at what point would you recommend i mention it.Sorry it’s just i don’t really no what to aspect with the order of questions.This new diagnosis is a hidden disability if you like.It has enormously affected my daily life and still is.This is my first time having any assessment with pip and my 3rd review.Thanks so much for replying and for your help.

Sorry you're feeling so nervous @suzie67. I've been in the same situation so completely understand! I made lots of notes about how my conditions affect me. What I can/can't do. What support I need, and real-world examples of my struggles. I find having notes in front of me helps the nerves as I have something to refer to when my mind goes blank!
