I had my 2nd WCA since coming off ESA in February,I know it's with decision makers but that's the only information I can get, should it take so long? Does it mean there's more likely to be a change to what group I am In please?

Hi @Sas24, welcome to the community! Sorry to hear that you've been waiting so long for your WCA decision, that's really frustrating. It's difficult to know, but I'd imagine it doesn't necessarily mean there's been a change to your group. It may just be that there's a big backlog in your area and things are taking a little longer than they should.

Have you been in touch with them to ask whether there are any updates? Perhaps by leaving a message on your journal?

I'll pop your post over into our Universal Credit section where more members can offer their thoughts 😊

Yes I have asked. They only ever say there are no time frames for it. Thank you,any advise would be great.

It might be worth asking your MP to contact the DWP, 5 months is a long time to be waiting.

    Hey guys.

Also I was LCW before that so I haven't had to send in sick notes ect or anything,so when does the award start from?? It's confusing. I had to send off all my info regarding health in November 2023 and then had my WCA on 2nd fed 2024. My assesment period is the 25th to the 26th of following month if this helps. TiA

Assuming you already had LCW before this decision was made, if this was a review started by UC then the extra money will be from the assessment period in which the decision was made.

If you reported changes to your health condition and you provided fit notes to support this then it will be from the assessment period in which you reported the changes.

If you already had LCW before this decision was made (you haven't confirmed that) then there's no waiting period. The extra money will be in your next payment and will be for assessment period 26th July to 25th August.
