Morning Everyone
I've just joined and had a question regarding UC/LCWRA. My 20yr old has recently started getting UC (applied April his first basic payment May) he has now been accepted for LCWRA.
I am so confused (I am his appointee) as to when he will receive the LCWRA payment. His Fit Note was uploaded on 12th April then he was referred for Work capabilities assessment.
His Paperwork was sent off 17th/5. His Work capabilities assessment was on 18/4 (Appt via phone) then he received a letter stating LCWRA given on 4th July.
When will he receive the extra benefit?
Thanks in advance

Hi @BellaLuna I totally understand the confusion, LCWRA is a bit of a minefield and I'm still learning about it.
From what I understand, the LCWRA component is first paid on the 4th payment cycle. Were there any breaks in his fit notes at all?

Hi @BellaLuna - & welcome to the community. Do you know when your son's assessment periods are, or when he's normally paid? Then we can work out when his first payment will be providing their were no gaps in his fit notes from 12 April until he got the decision following his Work Capability assessment, as Albus mentioned.

Hi
I checked today as this is when you can see the next payment. I think it's due next week. ( don't have access at the moment as I'm not at home). His fit nite was uploaded the day we applied and accepted and was valid until 15/7. The decision was given before the sick not ran out and I asked if Ineeded to still provide one and was told no.

He has had a payment May /June and due one next week.

Good there were no gaps in his fit notes. His waiting period will be Apr - May, May - Jun, & Jun - July. The extra LCWRA element is then due from his assessmemt period Jul - Aug, but, as this is paid in arrears, his first payment will be approx. the 3rd week in Sept from the info you've given.

Thanks for the information, it's so confusing.
Will he get backdated payments from when he first received UC (April/May) or is it just paid from the month after you are awarded it.
Thank again for your time.

The LCWRA element won't be backdated, as there's 3 full months before payment is due (the waiting period). He'll receive his first payment in Sept., as mentioned above.
You're very welcome ๐

First payment due in September doesnโt sound correct to me. If fit note was uploaded on 12th April and Bellaluna said it was the same day they applied. First payment would be August.
Can you please confirm exactly what date his payment is? The reason Iโm asking is because you said his fit note was provided on 12th April, the same day he applied for UC but if that was the case then his payment date would have been yesterday (18th of every month)
Can you also check the exact date the first fit note was provided.

Thank you. That means waiting period will be April to July.. LCWRA element starts from 17th July to 16th August and first payment will be 23rd August. No LCWRA element is owed.
