LCWRA Backdatin

Good morning,
I have been on UC since 2018 without any issues. Then in February 2022 after a period of illness, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
The nurse at the hospital told me about LCW and so when I was home and well enough, I made the application and posted my 1st sick note as requested on 30th may 2022. All of my notes were posted through my journal and acknowledged by the DWP even upto now.
After a long, long drawn out affair and lots of back and forward I was finally awarded LCW on 12th July 2023. The decision stated that I was to be awarded backdated benefits for LCWRA from 12th January 2023.
I didn't really give it much thought at the time as I was just happy it was finally done, but after reading people's problems trying to get LCWRA started and backdated money paid I thought I would check if they had done mine correctly and low and behold, i don't think they have.
I would like some advice on what to do next, is their anything I can do now nearly a year after the decision was sent to me and the backdated money paid??
Even though it's the DWP's fault, would I have a case to have the backdated money looked at again?
I find it really difficult with rules, regulations and things like that, so I hope someone on this message board could possibly help me and possibly tell me what my options are?
Thank you so much cin advance for any help
Tim

Hey there @Hogie80 and welcome to the community!
That's quite the question, but one that I'm unfortunately unable to answer. I just wanted to stop in and say hi. Hopefully by me commenting, it'll pop your discussion back to the top of the page and more people will be able to see it and hopefully give you an answer. 😊0 -
Thanks for the warm welcome @Albus_Scope
I thought it might be a difficult one to answer I don't really want to go back to DWP to ask the question as to being honest, you don't know if you're going to get the correct information. It can be very hit and miss, it really depends on who you get on the day!
There must be some sort of guidelines for cases like this though. I'd imagine there are plenty of cases where the claimant has been paid backdated money incorrectly and the decision has had to be revisited at a later date.
Here's hoping that the community here can help with an answer. I really would appreciate any advice. Thanks everyone.
