Today's IT outage
Just what many predicted would happen
When we rely on computers so much
The world should learn or fail

It was ok at the supermarket lol 😆

It's caused a lot of chaos by the sounds of it! I'm sure some tough lessons will be learned from the whole situation.
It's been sad to read that it's impacting healthcare too, as if there isn't already enough pressure on healthcare staff.

No it's not very good @Rosie_Scope at all .

Sorry to hear about that @Teddybear123 . Fingers crossed for Monday.

Your very welcome @Teddybear123 . Take it easy in this hot weather.

@Strawberry1 lucky you at the supermarket! I don't go out but my cousin said Waitrose and the Co-op reduced to cash. Next thing is probably a run on the ATMs

It was lucky @Cantilip , I didn't know anything about it . I don't go out that much . Whoa it's affected alot of stuff. What has caused it ?

When I go to the supermarket I'm with someone I'm not alone @Cantilip . Hope your cousin got on ok . Oh my goodness yes there will be lots going to ATMs . Something we didn't need. Technology is ok until something goes wrong.

No it's not good. Rather worrying 😟.

Low level of users of computer systems is the cause of failures. And there will be even more total failures, unfortunately. Does Bill Gates force automatic updates? No, this is stupidity and laziness of end users.

Glad you got it sorted out @woodbine .

It was wrong to do the updates on a Friday because there are always going to be problems - when I worked in IT - we always did major updates on a Monday - which then gave us a full week to sort any mess out - (before the weekend).

This reminds me of my lovely old family doctor who was my GP from my birth till just before Covid
He would always hand write scripts while you were sat with him, even in 2018
I don't really know why, he just seemed to enjoy tradition… he used a blood pressure machine that you pumped up by hand as well, although he was remarkably modern and forward-thinking as well in that he was incredibly understanding of my mental health issues
Sorry no point to this post, just a nice memory which is nice to have as an antidote to today's NHS!! 😆

If a person's medication is due with this IT glitch how do we order our meds now please if anyone could help ? Thanks

This wasn't actually Microsoft's fault by the way.
It was a third-party cybersecurity software that many corporations use. They pushed an update to their software, which caused the computer to stop working. So it only affected any computer that used this cybersecurity software.
How do you normally order your medication @Strawberry1?

I usually call a telephone number @Jimm_Scope .

My prescription was already 3 days late before the outage…no idea how much longer it'll be now. (I have got enough to tide over in the short term)
Keep ordering it earlier and earlier as the delays seem to be getting more and more frequent but there's never any explanation as to why it is.
