This is the first time I have made any comment but feel very strong about this, in my opinion the reforms in relation to PIP are just a way of saving money from people who will be in desperate need of it and who rely on it, "we are told that a voucher system will work better for people" ( Not the case if you rely on it ) , I am pretty sure ( Even though no party is admitted it ) a lot of people for whatever reason would not even use such vouchers so there is part of your savings already. As far as I am aware Labour have said we will look at it which probably translates to going forward with it, I hope that everyone comes together over this, but we will see.

Hi @Darrenfh and welcome to the community. There are lots of discussions about the possible changes to PIP and we're encouraging people to try not to speculate too much so as not to cause worry and stress. I'm hopeful that the right decisions will be made for the benefit of disabled people.

Also, I've just moved your post to the PIP category so it can be seen by more people 😊

Firstly thank you to Rachel for moving my post so more people can see it. Probably like many of us in relation to the proposals of reform to PIP it is a worrying time and it's not the best thing to speculate what may happen, but what I would say is in my own personal experience when reforms are made the people that it effects do not tend to feel it's a good thing. My own experience of going through the PIP process has been horrific and reading what other people have gone through I am not alone in this. Time will tell what happens?

I emailed my newly elected Labour MP and he responded saying that he recognised the "detriment these prososals have on disabled people" and that he will be voting against them, and that he hopes the proposals are "finally buried"

    Only time will tell.

I think contacting your MP is a very positive step, it is something I will be doing myself.

We previously had a Tory MP who lost his seat in the election.

He was actually very supportive and he worked hard for our constituency.

I had never heard of the Labour candidate until he got elected.

I emailed him and asked him what Labour's stance was regarding the proposed benefit reforms but he only gave me his opinion.

I do know my MP is Labour which has been the case for quite a while ,but as you say it would be interesting and more informative to know Labours view and what they are planning to do.
