Need Motability car but been refused because standard rate
Hi guys , I have been refused a mobility car for taking my 38 year old daughter to all her appointments, she is unable to travel alone due to her learning disabilities, loss of hearing and understanding in conversations and vulnerability and memory. She has been sexually assaulted 3 times in her life and is now see a therapist. I am 70 years old now and luckily fit and well. I have been doing this since birth but she seems to be getting more appointments,.wouldn’t you think she would be eligible for a mobility car . My daughter and I go everywhere together as she jut cannot cope on her own .

What was the reason for refusal? To join the motability scheme you or your daughter need to be claiming either Enhanced mobility PIP/ADP or DLA high rate mobility.

Hi @Walton267, first of all welcome the community 😊 I hope we can help you out here.
So just to clarify, you are wanting to get a Motability car but your daughter is only on standard rate. Can I ask when she was awarded PIP? If she cannot travel alone as you say, and the previous consequences have been those assaults then in my laymans opinion it sounds like she was not awarded the correct level of PIP.
I'm going to move this over to our PIP category, as I do think that will be the main focus of the discussion.
