Carers allowance whilst claiming benefits

My Wife receives pips and we receive joint esa whilst I claim carers allowance. We have had to move into a relatives house who has disabilities and claims attendance allowance. Dwp have said my wife can claim carers allowance for the relative even though she is claiming pips and esa.
Any ideas??
We want to claim the extra money but don't want to lose the current benefits

I honestly don’t know anything about ESA, but in regards to the other benefits, if your wife is caring for your relative for 35+ hours a week then yes she can claim Carers Allowance. Is you have any questions be sure to ask the DWP before claiming.

Yes she can claim carers allowance. As you're aware, it will be deducted from your ESA and carers allowance will be paid as a separate payment. Then they add the carers premium to your ESA.
The only thing she needs to be aware of is, if her caring duties contradict the reasons why she's claiming PIP then it could go against her at her next review.
I claim carers allowance and PIP, my caring duties do not contradict the reasons I'm claiming PIP.
Please also be very cautious about asking the call centres for advice like this because very often they give incorrect advice. When you ring a DWP department you're not speaking to someone from DWP itself.
