Hi all

I am a bit hit/miss at the moment since I am looking at the new Social Charter and the way it is to be implemented.

Yes, most assessors are medically trained to some extent, but this is usually a nurse, or a physio and are under no obligation to record things on your medical record as they are privately hired and it seems to be very much a case of luck of the draw who you'll be assessed by.

And do appreciate everone's comments, I have only one comment, and it's not this quote but, this section that says: Yes, MOST ASSESSORS ARE MEDICALLY TRAINED TO SOME EXTENT

As a Register Profession in the NHS, you are obliged to record your assessment in the claimant's Medical History as this comes under the Hipotrathetic Oath that all Medically trained people take. If you are not medically trained then OK you don't have to abide by the same rules. But why should I pay for an assessment to be done by the DWP for access to Financial Benefits, if the person assessing me has no qualifications< or "might have" some qualifications but not in what they are giving an opinion on which the Decision Maker relies on, because they are being hired for their Medical Expertise as the Decision Maker may also have none, and yet you allow him to override all the information supplied and make his own decision on you. Don't use the title unless you are registered.

Imagine being diagnosed by a non-medical person for your disability and they get it wrong?

Here we go again! Assessments for PIP and the work capability assessment do not need to added to your medical records. Why do you keep on insisting that this should happen, it's very misleading.

    Good morning @onebigvoice

While some assessors may have previously worked for the NHS, PIP and work capability assessments are not medical assessments and are not to do with the NHS. Therefore it is my understanding that they do not need (nor do they have access to) report or add anything to your medical record.

    As another comment

If I chose to use the "Report " written by Capita, or any other assessment company to get back to work why can't I since the last report said The medical information I provided did not support some functions and could do some sort of work, yet when I went to work with the report and asked to be reinstated. They told me you must be joking, ( well Roman words or might have been Viking) and said the amount of changes needed to get you into work it would be impossible to cover all the complaints you have to allow you to work safely.

They also back at the start paired me nup with someone so once on the premises I would see them, and in the event of an evacuation or Fire. It was their responsibility to make sure I got out. Duty of Care act. ( Under disability working, also covers people who are not fully fit and return on reduced hours or people who come back for an Hour a day for months to get back into the working environment after long periods of sickness)

So yes I do understand more than you think because I wrote the rules that you take for granted. ( Good Employment Schemes) ( Protecting everyone's rights)
