Tribunal, new claim or just give up?
Hello everyone. So basically I have been getting pip since 2014. I called them at the start of 2023 to update them with worsening and new medical information. They told me I would be getting a review in a few months so just wait till the forms land and fill them in and add my new diagnoses and medical info. They arrived in may 2023 so filled them in with the help of an advisor at the CAB. Had my phone assessment in March 2024 and 8 weeks after that I had my decision that my pip was stopping as I no longer had enough points…despite my health having gotten worse not better.
I did a mandatory reconsideration and recently got the letter where i was given 2 extra points but not enough to reinstate my pip. So I applied for the tribunal today online. I do understand it can take a long time.
However, im just exhausted from the stress of everything. I'm wondering if i should just give up. Or maybe just put in a new claim and hope for the best. Does anyone know if you are able to appeal to tribunal but also put in a new claim?

Define go ahead with the tribunal. If successful you’ll get all the money owed back. If you start a new claim it will most likely get rejected as the situation will be exactly the same.
Keep strong and push on and hopefully you’ll get a good outcome.
Your tribunal will lapse if you make a new claim

You might as well continue with the tribunal, I'm not sure but I think there might be a process where you can still start a new claim while waiting for the old one to resolve, can you find a local benefits advisor to help you? You might find one by searching here:

Agreed that you should proceed with the Tribunal. Starting a new claim isn't always the answer because you could be refused again and the whole process starts all over again.
Providing you either appear in person or request a telephone/video hearing success rate is about 70% at Tribunal stage.

Thank you all for your replies. I have made contact with my local CAB and have decided to go with the tribunal. Thank you once again :)
