Financial support while off work for an operation? Self employed
i am due for an operation to my right arm and can t carry on my work till healing.. I am self employed how can I claim some temporary. financial suport please can anybody tell me? thank you very much

You can look at claiming New style ESA but whether there's any entitlement to payments will depend on your NI contributions in tax years 2021/22 and 2022/23. You will need a fit note to claim this.
There's also Universal Credit but it's a means tested benefit so if you live with a partner you'll need to claim as a couple. Entitlement will be based on your joint circumstances. If you have capital/savings of more than £16,000 you're excluded from claiming.
If you claim both of those together the ESA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.
