A review before it goes to tribunal??

my MR was rejected and I followed all the correct process to request the tribunal, out of the blue I got a phone call from a lady who explained that she was looking at all my evidence etc again and she was going to see if there was anything she could do to change the decision and if she had any more questions she would ring me back
of course I don’t get a further phone call but a text and an email to say it’s going to tribunal and it could be months!!
So the lady that rang is the 3rd person who has “reviewed” my case so I’m sat here wondering what is done differently at a tribunal??

Hi @white1989.
I've been to tribunal via video call. There were 3 medical professionals and 1 person from the DWP. The medical professionals asked me questions to really get to know how my disability affects me. The DWP person didn't say much other than one question. I found the process better than I had expected. I had my husband sat next to me but he wasn't allowed to say anything unless they asked him a direct question. Try not to worry about it, I know that's easier said than done! They just want to fully understand how your disability affects you.
Hope that helps

Does anyone know if they will only look into the parts in the MR at the tribunal or will they discuss the other descriptors too?

Hi @white1989, from what I understand they look at your case as a whole to see whether the decisions are correct. But they might focus on the things that you've highlighted in your appeals to see if things were decided on properly and whether anything needs to change.

thank you. I'm looking back at the pack they have sent after MR and I'm typing up some more details about other daily living activities that were not in my MR. I'm going to send this off to them before the tribunal, hopefully they will look at it as a whole
