Hi, my name is ADSummer2024!
Hi there, I'm 57 and live in Yorkshire and have been disabled long term. I had just only successfully received ESA/PIP after a daunting process, when I got a text out of the blue demanding I attend an interview at the Job Centre. My stomach flipped, and was told I now attend regular interviews, despite having medical evidence piled high. I felt ill when it began to dawn on what may happen. I'm terrified, and it's making me feel so ill.

Hey @ADSummer2024, welcome to the community 😊 That sounds concerning, have you spoken to your work coach at all about this? Or have you sent in any fit notes at all?
Just hoping we can help guide you to sort this out, I know how worrying this must be, but we can get hopefully help you get this sorted with what actions you can take.

For ESA have you been through the work capability assessment? If so what was the decision on that please?

Poppy, thank you for your comments. I did the work capability assessment, this was over the phone, and the result was I got ESA and support allowance £240.55, and PIP at the higher rate. I don't understand why I have to go through it all again. All the lady said to me at the face to face interview was to verify who I was, which I provided. I felt like a criminal as she was very rude in nature and ignorant. I dread future appointments, and it is making me ill. Thanks again, Poppy, x.

Hi Jimm, thank you so much pal for commenting. I hope you can see my response to Poppy.
Yes, even the DWP guy said I provided 'a mountain' of medically related evidence. After I reapplied for my ESA/PIP my interview was over in 5 minutes, such are my serious health issues. I feel so dumb. Work coach? I have only spoken to the woman who interviewed me. She showed me the website I was supposed to fill the questionnaire in and to attend another appointment next week. I suffer with memory problems and serious mental health issues, triggered by stress. So, you can imagine my shock on realising what it meant to apply for UC. I'm reading all the horror stories now. Unbelievable. Once again Jimm, thank you for taking the time to respond, you have no Idea how thankful I am for your response. Bless you!

As you're in the Support Group you should not have to attend any appointments.
You mentioned UC have you recently applied for that?

Yes, I have. She said I was at the Job Centre because of this. She brushed everything to do with the DWP. Basically my health has been brushed aside. She said it was because I am still in the working age group.

*Brushed away anything to do with the DWP decision to award me ESA/PIP.
