Hi, my name is Elainemarys! Deduction from my UC?
Hi,I retired on July 29th 2024,and I was on universal credit, my end date was the 6th August last payment on the 12th August, but they have deducted of £221 which is my pension for 1 week, surveillance should get the full month from UC as I don't get my pension until 22nd August, and this is a reduced rate for 1st month.I have messaged them twice but no reply, thanks Elaine

The deduction is correct. UC continues until the end of the assessment period in which you reached state pension. Your state pension is paid 4 weeks in arrears. Therefore there will be 1 weeks state pension to deduct from UC, exactly what they've done.

I'm not wrong unfortunately. I wouldn't have advised you if I wasn't sure of the advice I was giving. State pension is always deducted in full from any UC entitlement.
