Hello everyone, Seeking for Help and Guidance. Skilled Worker Dependent visa.
I am reaching out as a newcomer seeking some guidance and insights on disability benefits and employment support. Last year, I applied for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) but was unfortunately deemed ineligible. Currently, I’m residing in the UK under a Skilled Worker Dependent visa.
Navigating the system can be quite daunting, and I’m feeling quite nervous and tense about the process. If anyone here could offer any advice, share their personal experiences, or provide tips on understanding the eligibility criteria and what support options are available, it would mean a lot to me.
Your support and shared knowledge could be invaluable in helping me find my footing in this new chapter. Thank you in advance for your kindness and assistance.

Hey there @akshaytkr21 and a warm welcome to the community. 😊
I'm unsure what you can claim whilst on a visa, so it'd be worth checking to see what you're eligible for here, I think that'd be the best place to start. I totally understand the nerve right now, but we're all here for support if you need us. 😊

With this type of visa I'm afraid you will not be entitled to any public funds. Please see link.
You cannot:
- apply for most benefits (public funds), or the State Pension
- change jobs or employer unless you apply to update your visa
When you received the visa you should have received information on what you can and can't do.
