Well Today I spoke with UC more on this and they have suggested in my case i get a long term fit note from my DR then I can be put forward for a health assessment which will subsequently change my work group.

This eventually should get me the correct monies for my situation.

I have requested this from my DR now.

I have a question please if I have no income at all besides PIP of £405.40 coming in monthly and my wife's earnings are £11.75 an hour at 30 hours a week. My rent if £640 per month, how much UC should I get this month?

Hi GJT, poppy is Scope's human benefits calculator but she's been on holiday!

She usually volunteers morning, noon and night, Monday to Friday and weekends so you'll not miss her when she's back on the forum 😉

ive submitted now numerous fit notes at te request of UC, and also filled out a UC50 and returned it. Today on my UC journal I got this message which I dont really understand.

"I have accepted your fit note based on the information you have reported. If this is not right or, your circumstances have changed, please let us know through your journal. Please do not bring your fit note into the Job Centre unless you are asked to do so. Keep your fit note as we may need to see it in the future. If you are a self employed earner with the Minimum Income Floor (MIF) applied to your Universal Credit you will need to request a Self Employment review to get the MIF amended if affected by a long term health condition - it will NOT happen automatically. Thank you"

It means your fit note was accepted and they are asking you to keep that fit note incase they ask for it in the future, which they may.

If you're not self employed then that part doesn't apply.

Well Ive just got my UC payment statement through this month and Im confused as I think they have calculated wrong.

I was awarded the following - £393.45 (standard allowance)

Housing - £ 595.00 couldnt pay full £640.00 because of LHA rate.

    Total entitlements before deductions £988.45

Take home pay for me - £948.03

The amount well use to work out your UC is £0

    My wifes earnings £1723.69

Deducting £0.55 in every £1.00 in take home pay

They have said total deductions £948.03

My total payment for this month of Oct for UC is £40.42

    Is this correct please?

The reason why you're only entitled to single person standard allowance is because your wife is NRPF. (No Recourse to Public Funding)

As you do not have any children on your claim and you haven't had the decision on your work capability assessment yet then you will not have the work allowance.

In that calculation you did you have down as your take home pay (earnings) were £948.03, is that correct? I'm just checking because that's exactly the same amount as the deductions for your wife's earnings. Did you receive any earnings?

If your earnings are that amount then your UC would be reduced to zero.

    If you received no earnings and it's just your wife's of £1,723.69 x 0.55 = £948.03 - £988.45 = total amount UC payable is £40.42.

I had no earnings at all in October only my PIP at £405-80

So yes that take home figure is correct of £948.03

They have used your wife's earnings to work out the deductions, which are correct. Your UC payment is £40.42.
