    I have had a DLA assessment and a PIP assessment.
    The DLA I experienced mistruths and was able to successfully get the report set aside as evidence during tribunal, it seems this doesnt work often though as I have been told on here thats usually a bad approach to appeals. I was lucky perhaps I was able to easily highlight inaccuracies in the report so e.g. was a claim no steps in to my property, took a photo, done. Another was the size and walking distance from door to my chair, very easy to disprove, that was enough for the chair to push the report aside on his desk.
    My PIP assessment I felt the experience was a lot of better, prior to this assessment I made sure I understood the descriptors, and focused on proving them rather than things like diagnosis and irrelevant medical history. The assessor seemed to actually help me along, he gave me a descriptor which was 50/50, and helped me answer questions in a way to get awarded. I got awarded but at the same time I felt he misjudged my mental health significantly. So was no points on mental health grounds, just physical.

    Mental health I think is really hard to prove, as the approach seems to be if you get through an assessment by yourself then you have no significant issues. I expect for those assessments having someone with you is near enough essential.

    @fedup244 This isnt the end of the road, please try to stay as calm as possible, and look at ways to strengthen your case for the descriptors you qualify for, make the reconsideration request as your next step.
