Have had motability for last 3yrs but have been refused even though my condition has / is getting worse.

I have appealed & they have increased my stnd rate payment but not reinstated my motability

HOW CAN THEY REFUSE THIS WHEN MY CONDITION IS WORSENING. I also live in a village miles from any bus route etc note the pittance of allowance would certainly not cover transport costs even before living costs

Can someone assist urgently and tell me what to put in my re appeal

What annoyed myself was that the appraiser was not a medical professional & a simple pen pusher just there to tick a box. Some of her comments were totally incorrect.

I told them about this regarding my motability section & they have not taken into account my side of the actual assessment nor did they comment about this in thier response this is having really stressful to my well being

PLEASE HELP

You said you have appealed the decision but appeal refers to a Tribunal. Can you please confirm if it was Tribunal or the Mandatory Reconsideration that you've done so far.

    Mandatory reconsideration

    Don't know where to turn.

    Motability have been brilliant

& very helpful they said they would cover myself until 2/9/24 after never asking for any assistance I feel totally alienated I didn't even know that dwp stopped paying my mobility in May

The first I ever knew was when motor let me know Situation.. surprisingly I recieved a letter from dwp 2wks later !!!! 27/7/24

Thank you so much for your potential assistance

Hi @skodakodiaq1234, welcome to the community 😊 I'm sorry to hear that your PIP review has not gone well. If you have already gone through the Mandatory Reconsideration there is still the option of going to a tribunal. Now, I cannot say if a tribunal on your case would be successful or not, but the success rate of tribunals has recently been around 70%.

We have an advice section about going to a tribunal for PIP here: Appealing a benefits decision | Disability charity Scope UK

It also has some links to other helpful sites, so please do check it out!

Could you say a bit more about your issues with motability being stopped in May? When was your initial reward for if you don't mind me asking?
