I just migrated over to UV from income surport..plus I am a full time carer .now nothing been mention regarding what happens about care allowance? I inform the information on form..I got a job centre id appointment on 20th August 2024.they keep changing the appointment. Do I continue to get my carers? Or have I got to reclaim? As I filled uv form in on the 7th August 2024... but never ask my local council who helped me fill uv form out this question

Carers allowance will continue to be paid as normal but be deducted in full from any UC entitlement, the same as it was from Income Support.
When you claimed UC did you report being a carer? If so then your UC will include the carers element.
It will take a couple of weeks to update your claim, once this is done you will need to agree to your new commitments, which will only be to report all changes. As a carer you will have no commitments after this first appointment.

Hey @Kathleen64, I am so glad you found us too 😁 I hope we can help clear things up. If Poppy hasn't already, which would be a surprise to me because she knows so much about the benefits system. The migration can be pretty concerning, and it takes some time, but it does sound like you did everything right on your end.
Do let us know if you have any further questions about Universal Credit or anything else that comes to mind 🙂
