Last Will, what will happen to my cats?
Not wanting to be depressing, but since I learnt I have heart failure made me think about the future.
My most concern is what will happen to my belovedf 3 cats when I snuff it.
First Will I made it a condition that benefactors must take in and house my cats. Then I realised not viable, all have dogs and not cat lovers.
So I saw the ad by Cats Protection (https://www.cats.org.uk/).
They seem to do lots of good work for cats (so they say), and they offer to re-house your cats after you snuff it. (Free of charge). I am putting them into my revised Will and leaving a large donation to them.
Anyone know, are Cats Protection as genuine and good as they claim.
I don't want my cats ending up in a curry - aweful chewy.

While I've heard good things I haven't personally had any experience with Cats Protection @GerryofCumbria. Do you have any friends that aren't going to be benefactors who could take in the cats at all?

I adopted three cats in the past from the cats protection league and I found them to be genuine and very caring.
I used to donate to their fates and Christmas fares and put cat food in their donation boxes at supermarkets, before I moved to an area that doesn't have a cats protection league.

It's very thoughtful for you take your cats into consideration. As a dog lover, it's very sad to see rescue centres with pets who haven't been abandoned but have have come from very loving and dedicated owners that very sadly have passed. It may be more reassuring to you knowing that your cats would be cared for by people you already know. Do any of your beneficiaries have dogs that get on with cats? Do your cats get on with dogs?! Many people do choose to adopt pets from rescues for all the very right reasons. Not everyone wants kittens and puppies! And many people foster pets on behalf of centres in their own homes until the right forever home is found. My old mutley came to me from an absolute devoted elderly couple who fostered cats on behalf of an animal rescue. He was the first dog they'd every fostered. I still keep in touch with them today. I'm sure there will be many dedicated cat owners here with plenty of positive rehoming experiences who will give advice and reassurance. The 'curry' scenario did make me giggle though! 👍
