Hi @Soolon, welcome to the community 😊

To apply for vehicle tax exemption due to disability you have to visit your closest Post Office that deals with vehicle tax. They have a webpage where you can search for your nearest Post Office: Branch Finder | Post Office

When you search just open up the filter, select "Driving" and then tick the "Vehicle tax" box.

You can apply for exemption from paying vehicle tax if you get the:

    • higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
    • enhanced rate mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
    • enhanced rate mobility component of Adult Disability Payment (ADP)
    • higher rate mobility component of Child Disability Payment
    • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement
    • Armed Forces Independence Payment

You get a 50% reduction if you have PIP or ADP standard mobility component.

When you go to the Post Office you should show a letter from the DWP that shows what rate of PIP you are getting, and the dates it is awarded for. Or, if you receive ADP, a letter from Social Security Scotland that states your rate of ADP and the dates awarded.
