Can anyone help please.
Hi I Have a disability and am on pip but i am also a full time carer for my severely disabled son. I have asked to migrate over to universal credit but they tell me i need a fit note even though i am a carer and never needed this when i was on income support even though i have a disability too.Im also waiting for my sons migration will he have to have a fit note too even though he is not verbal and has severe learning difficulties is autistic and has sotos syndrome. I have never had to go through this fit note thing before so would be grateful for any help. Thank you.

You will only need to provide a fit note (formally known as a sick note) if you want to go through the work capability assessment. If you don't then you don't have to provide one.
As you're a carer then you have no work commitments anyway. It's entirely up to you what you choose to do.
Which benefits exactly does your son claim?

Your son will not need to provide a fit note when he migrates across because he'll be entitled to the LCWRA element from the start of his claim.
Once you have access to his journal you need to put a message on there to tell them he's in the Support Group. It will take a few weeks for them to send his details across to UC. Once this is done his claim will be updated.
