Hi

My PIP journey so far - applied mid June ‘2024

Telephone Assessment Mid - August ‘2024

today ( just 13 working days after my Telephone Assessment ) I got the “ we awarded your PIP “ text.

only that it is a Bank Holiday so I can’t find out what points I scored / what level of PIP I have been awarded.

That's great news and a very quick process too. Those texts are automatically generated, usually within 24 hours after the decision was made.

They will be open tomorrow at 9am so you can ring and ask then. Or you can wait for the letter, which should arrive in a couple of weeks. Any money owed is usually paid into your bank before you receive the decision letter.

Amazing to hear @Martin2019 😁 We always love hearing about PIP success stories. I hope the decision is one you agree with. Remember there's the appeal processes if you think they've scored you lower than you think is correct and so you receive a lower (or no) rate that you think you're entitled to.

You can read more about the appeals process if that turns out true here: Appealing a benefits decision | Disability charity Scope UK

How are you feeling though? It must be some relief that you've been awarded something.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thank you- I feel relieved. I called the PIP helpline today and used the option 1 and then option 6 which told me my next payment so I have worked out what I have been awarded. I feel I have been awarded fairly- possible slightly under scored but will wait to see the full points / copy of decision etc.

I originally applied about five years ago and scored zero, then requested a MR and scored zero and then attended a tribunal, but I was in such a bad state mentally I scored zero again and didn't challenge the decision properly.

Interestingly this time the Pip Assessor mentioned and saw my orignal PIP application from 2020 when I requested PIP this time! which I didn't expect. I am just glad as the extra money will really make a difference to me in that it will help those that help me in costs and i will feel slightly less of a burden!.
