Can someone please explain why please? Nothing else has changed.

Just to add my adult daughter who is 27 lives with me and claims enhanced care and mobility PIP. Due to this no deductions are made on my current HB and CT while still on esa?

Does UC make deductions for this where while on esa they don’t?

All local Authorities have their own rules for council tax reduction so I can't advise with that. Other than to say that they often use your UC statement to work out entitlement to CTR.

For your current HB I wouldn't expect you to be excluded from non dependant deductions because your daughter is claiming PIP.

You would be excluded from non dependant deductions if you are claiming daily living PIP yourself. If you are then the same will apply for UC when you claim this.

    Thank you Poppy

It would be the same local authority, so confusing.

I also get enhanced care and mobility on PIP, so that’s why.

You're welcome. Yes, I gathered it would be the same LA. When you claim UC your rent will be paid in with this known as housing element. Council Tax reduction will still be claimed from your LA.
