Has anyone got an electric car and had a charger fitted when they dont have a driveway
I have an electric car coming but i dont have a driveway. I am just wondering if anyone else has an electric car but dont have a driveway and managed to get an electric charger fitted, or had their small front garden converted into a driveway

If you don't have a driveway then I assume there's no dropped kerb in front of the garden? It is illegal to drive over a normal kerb to park on a garden, so you would need a dropped kerb fitting first. This can take many months to complete. Where I live, it costs around £500 (non refundable) just to apply for a dropped kerb, but your local authority may be different.
If the garden is fairly flat and clear already, then that shouldn't take much to convert to a parking space.
I don't know the rules that Motability have for fitting wall chargers so can't offer any advice on that.

Motability will fit the charger free of charge for your first installation. I’m surprised you didn’t look into this before ordering the vehicle.
If a charger can’t be installed they will give a reduction for using public chargers but this still works out to be quite a lot more expensive than fuel for ICE vehicles. I looked into this when I chose my current car but decided against it due to the overall cost of using public chargers.

Total cost for a dropped kerb is around £2500 on average.
The average cost for planning permission for a dropped kerb will range between £50 - £400 depending on where you are in the UK. There may also be a street work license to pay to the council, with the typical fee for this around £430. The average cost of a dropped kerb will be around £1,800 to create a new vehicle access point.
PLUS my council charge £348 just to apply for a dropped kerb licence.
The planning permission should be free - if you are "disabled"
