Hi, my name is Lea1987!
Hi everyone! My names Leanne, I'm 36 years old, and I'm from Boston in Lincolnshire, but now living in Market Deeping, Peterborough. I have 3 sons aged 18, 9 and 7. We have 2 cats called Shadow (6) and Luna (2). We also have a beautiful Border Collie puppy called Storm who turns 1 on the 10th September. I have a partner called Mark who I have been with for 11 years. I have been disabled for around 14 years. I was diagnosed with CES in 2012 and had emergency spinal surgery, which was meant to fix everything, but instead the wound became infected for 6 months, and I still live with chronic pain everyday, which affects my neck, arms, back and legs. I'm also a T1 Diabetic. I also really struggle with my mental health. In 2021/22 I was hospitalised with Sepsis, DKA and AKI and I was put into a coma for weeks. I spent significant time in hospital and had to have dialysis and multiple blood transfusions. I also received a grade 4 pressure sore whilst I was in a coma that took about a year to heal. I've had to have several mobility aids added to my home and walk with a walker and/or crutches. My partner is my carer and cooks, cleans, helps me to wash, grocery shop, look after the kids, looks after the pets and helps me with medications. I've been housebound ever since leaving hospital... I'm in a first floor flat so getting out is really difficult so I rely heavily on my partner for everything. My interests are reading, listening to music, watching films and TV series, Pinterest and colouring.

Hi @Lea1987, welcome to the community 😊 It sounds like you've had quite the life journey with your health. I've had a different experience, but I think I can empathise a little. I have crohn's disease and have had some bad internal bleeds. One bad enough I ended up collapsing while out. I needed quite a few blood transfusions that time. I was lucky to avoid surgery.
Mark sounds amazing by the way. I wasn't even sure how to put into words how amazing he sounds. It's great you've such a supportive partner.
And since you mention pets, I would love to see some pictures if you don't mind! (just be careful to avoid posting pictures that show faces of yourself or your family)
Here is my lovely ball of fur, Suki
