PIP award ended because I WORK
Hi
I really don’t understand
So for 4yrs I’ve had PIP because I had breast cancer and reconstruction that didn’t work. Which my issues are still ongoing.
I now have osteoarthritis in my knee and Plantar Fasciitis in both feet, so added disability now.
I had a review with PIP told them all the new things that are wrong
But because I work (which I have done all my life) as a forklift driver they have taken my PIP away.
I feel I’m being penalised for working.
I chanced job roles because this is so much easier for me I can sit down instead of standing of my feet for 8hrs a day, and because the doctor doesn’t give me any painkillers for my condition.
Can I appeal against this…
Is this right because I work I can’t get help.
I’m so so upset, I know you shouldn’t judge anyone but I know two people that lie and say they have depression just to get PIP this world isn’t what it used to be
Thank you for listening to me

ps I also had Pulmonary embolus ( blood clogs in my lungs in 2021) I still get very short of breath but because I don’t take medication for it then that also goes against me now on my pip claim

You can challenge the decision by first requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration. (MR) You have 1 month from the date of the decision to request this and you should put it in writing. You need to state where and why you think you should have scored those points.
Many people do work and claim PIP but if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming PIP then it can go against you.
Please don't judge people because it's not nice. You don't know how people are really affected by any conditions. Just because a condition is invisible, it doesn't mean they aren't greatly affected by them. It's so easy to put on a face to the outside world and pretend there's nothing wrong. No one really knows what goes on behind closed doors.

Hi @freddieallen welcome to the community. 😊
As Poppy has rightfully said, you can ask for a MR within a month and please try to do this in writing, as the people on the phone may not take all of the information down correctly.
It's also not up to us to say if someone has depression, it's up to the individual, as it affects everyone differently. 😉

I totally agree but the 2 people I know on pip make it clear to family and friends they lie to get money. It’s people like that that make u mad. And genuine people don’t get it

Oh please, come on. No one knows how anyone is affected. Very few people claim PIP fraudulently. Please don't judge!!

I’m under impression it’s not what you suffer from nor what you take to treat it . It’s how it affects YOUR daily life from what I’ve looked up . I’m new to all this never wanted to do this could have applied for it 19 year ago but I didn’t cos i was scared . I’ve not much choice now I’d go read the law/ legal definition of that . Some of us don’t do well with meds for a start off where does that leave people ? And what about the other half bc a dozen prescriptions to counteract the affects of treatments / pills etc . This is going yo
Totally have me on my knees mentally putting myself through this cos we all
Know and have heard 1st time gonna get knock back most people do . Then there’s appealing and amount of people I’ve seen post over years about the lies they tell ! WTH?
