Pip stoped

Hi all
Could anybody give me some pointers on appealing my Pip award
I have completed my Review 12 questions
And I was awarded only 2 pints
To say shocked and fear in same sentence is a understatement
Over all I have had pop now for numbers of years however my medical needs have changed over the last year to include 2 operations
It appears nothing was taken into account
The review itself was more like a chat with steering questions from assessor
So I have read on line and recommended to appeal within 1 month
This were I am at a loss, could anybody explain what happens on this appeal ,the terms seam like I'm going to court and not sure I have the strength to battle on
The only positive news was I also completed my ESA review a week later and I'm still awarded to stay within support group
Does this help with a pip appeal
Thank you

No problem at all @gaypride we have some information explaining the MR and appeal process here which may be helpful. The first thing you'll need to do is ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) I'd suggest you do this in writing, as the people in the call centre may not take the information down correctly.
I find it best to write down each descriptor you feel you are entitled to, with the number of points you fell you should be awarded, why and then a real case scenario including what happened afterwards. Remember if you cant do something safely, in a reasonable time, or repeatedly, you're classed as being unable to do it.
Once that's done, if they still say 2 points, then it'd be time for the appeal. But I'd say lets cross that bridge when we come to it. But don't worry, they're loads easier and kinder than the original assessments. 😊

Hi,
The ESA award doesn't help with the PIP unfortunately. They're completely different benefits with different criteria.
The first stage of appeal is a mandatory reconsideration (MR). There is a chance that the decision will change at MR, however the percentage of awards that change at MR is low. That is why many claimants then have to go on to a tribunal. It is not a court although it does feel similar. Many more awards get changed at tribunal than MR, so if you do feel up to it, going all the way through to tribunal is the best chance of getting your award back. Only you can decide whether it's worth doing, but there is nothing to lose by starting with the MR now.
You should include a couple of real world events or experiences to back up any assertions that are made on the forms. That is the best way to convince the assessors of the help you need.

@gaypride You have a lady called Charlie Anderson on Youtube, she done a video a while back saying about how she helped (got paid) to do someone's mandatory review and it was refused.
A lot of extra information went in, and she said it was like that they did not even read the information.
So her advice is to include as much as you can on the first page, and then include extra evidence on other pages.
So they read your main arguement,
- You gave me no points for having no pride, yet my forum name on Scope is Gaypride. Please see page three for further information.
This is an example and obviously having pride is not part of PIP, but hopefully you get the drift.
So Chopping up food etc etc you do a main statement such as above and then link to other pages.
If the person doing the mandatory reconsideration is not wanting to read a hundred pages, they may just say refused and then store whatever paperwork they do.
You have a lot of news story's at the moment, saying that thousands of people are being refused PIP for some reason, whether they want to get as many people off PIP as possible, is open to debate.
I kept all of the forms from when I applied for PIP, and when I done my review, I started putting information down, when I checked the last time, all of the information was basically the same.
However, your ESA being awarded a week later, should help you if it comes to a tribunal, as the DWP have awarded you ESA after failing PIP, so one examiner has said no, the other said yes.
So you can lead on that grounds, however you are very lucky as what I read years ago, was that you applied for PIP it got turned down, and then your ESA would also be looked at again and possibly stopped.
So hopefully if you have kept the last paperwork from PIP, you should include these as further evidence. You scored me 10 points for something the last time, this time zero points, yet nothing has changed and I sent you the same information as I did last time.
Do not just download a template and say, I want a MR as I say, include as much information as possible on the first page, and then include as much after the first page as well.
Even if you have to send the same information again, which they say not to do.
However, everything is a guessing game with the DWP and there are no right or wrong answers when it comes to people's advice.
Hopefully, things turn out for you.
