Pip appeal
good morning all, I hope you are all as well as can be. I received my appeal bundle with the case managers response and some of the wording in it is ridiculous. As if I’m lying about my illness. If any of you have time will you be able to read through this and make sure it makes sense? I’m going to upload it to the portal. I also have an additional letter explaining why I disagree with his reasoning. It’s worth noting that I was awarded nothing, sent in evidence, was then awarded standard daily living and enhanced mobility was told to still appeal so I did then they took the mobility off me. The reasons for this were that I went on holiday. There’s a complaint put in as well to the DWP but they keep extending the deadline so I have to wait until the 17th for the reply from them. Any feedback or advice would be great. Thanks in advance

Hi @Lee56584. Your notes are very detailed and describe how your condition affects your daily life which is what the DWP want evidence for. I applied for PIP and had to go all the way to tribunal before I was awarded. The letter I received was similar in that it dismissed my struggles and they had decided that I was capable of doing everything I told them I couldn't. Am I right in thinking that you've been through the mandatory reconsideration? So the next step would be tribunal?

Thank you for the reply. I really appreciate it. My appeal went to tribunal the first time but they asked me to send in more evidence as they had never dealt with such a big difference between what the health professional said and what the DWP decided so I don’t this and just before the second appeal the DWP made me an offer so it lapsed until I applied again for the appeal. When it was looked at the case manager decided my appeal should be reduced from enhanced mobility to no mobility. So I asked for a MR which the denied and now I’m waiting again. My MP is involved and I did submit a complaint which will be dealt with by the 17th of this month. They kept extending it due to the DWP not replying to his emails xxx

Hi @Lee56584. It sounds like such a complicated situation! Sorry they're messing you about so much. Will you keep us updated? I've never come across a case like this so it'd be good to know the outcome. I'm hoping it's a positive one for you 😊
