hello all, I wonder if anyone might be able to help with a query. I was receiving tax credits working and child tax I also received the disability working tax element and severe one for myself. I also have one child. I work 16 hours a week. I have had to move to uc because I had a migration letter and moved to uc in July.i have health and mobility issues and had to provide fit notes on my journal. I had a wca this week and think it went well enough to put me in the lwcra group. I currently have a transitional Protection of about £313 a month in my claim I get standard allowance for my self and my son I also receive pip both standard amount for daily and mobility.. But they deduct £161 off my claim because of working.my questions are sorry I’ve wrote alot! Is there no disability element included in my claim because my amounts seems less than they did on tax credits even with the protection and also if I get lwcra will I be able to keep all of it? Thanks so much in advance

Hi @shirlz123 - & welcome to the community. Should you receive the LCWRA element, which is an additional £416.19 then this would definitely have an impact on your Transitional Protection (TP), as for any amount that increases your UC, then your TP goes down until completely eroded to £0, which would happen of you receive the LCWRA element, so sorry, you wouldn't get to keep it all, tho £416.19 a month is better than £313.

If you were to receive Limited Capability for Work (LCW), which is £156.11 a month, then this would reduce your TP by that amount.

Both LCW & LCWRA are paid if you have a disability. Your UC is made up of different elements but the amount you earn may mean there are some deductions from the total amount (if this goes up then your UC payment may reduce, & vice-versa). You can see more about this here:

    https://www.gov.uk/universal-credit/how-your-wages-affect-your-payments

Your PIP doesn't have any affect on your UC.

You're very welcome. Just to add, do keep on supplying fit notes until you get the decision on your WCA, & good luck!
