Lcwra payment
Hi. I was told I was lcwra on 20th August 2024. It says I may be entitled to extra money on me and my partners universal credit payments . Do I need to apply for this or is it automatically added?
I first sent a sick note in February 2024 . I have sent continous sick notes in since.I have mentioned I was told I am classed as lcwra in August. When should I hear if I am entitled to extra payments? I have not heard anything yet , it's been about a month
Thanks for any help 🙏

No my partner does not get lcwra. I am not sure if I am expecting a letter or something in my journal . Would I hear if I am not entitled to anything or would they just not send anything?
Thankyou for your help.

I believe you get your 1st payment of LCWRA, 3 months after you send your 1st sicknote.
So say if you sent your 1st fit note in may, your 1st payment of LCWRA would be August, . This is because there is a 3-month relevant period before you can receive it. But it will automatically generate on your statement.
But if you have been awarded and havent had a payment and its over 3 months, give them a call or put a message on your journal. Hope this helps!

Thankyou, will do.

The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods and the extra money is then paid from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note, with first payment being the end of the 4th month.
What date exactly did you provide your first fit note?
What date do you usually receive your money each month?

First doctors / sick note uoloaded 11th of February 24 and get UC payment the 13th of each month.

Your waiting period will be March/April, April/May, May/June.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 7th June to 6th July and first payment will be 13th July. You should have received your first payment by now.
If you have access to a journal did you receive the decision letter uploaded onto there? Please check to make sure it was Limited Capability For Work Related Activity (LCWRA) and not just Limited Capability For Work. (LCW) You only receive extra money if it's LCWRA.

Thanks for all the help from everyone. I put a message in my journal and have had the response . It says I'm being awarded lcwra from the 10th of May and will get the extra money next payment ( october). Not sure if the it means the 3 months waiting was from 10th of May . Or I am getting any back pay from May, has I put my first doctors note in February. I will find out next month .
Again many thanks 😊

From 10th May doesn't match the information you gave here. Your waiting period starts from March, with first payment being 13th July.
Can I please just ask you to double check the exact date you provided your first fit note was 11th Feb 2024? and this wasn't the actually date on the fit note itself?
It's the date you provide it that counts, not the date on the fit note.

Hi, I have just looked further back in my journal. I put my first sick note in on the 21/11/23. It ran out 15th feb 24 and I have sent sick notes since . My mistake sorry.
But when I look at my journal it says "report health change" after a telephone assessment. And it says unfit for work . But I have had the same conditions since 20th November 2024. Does that mean they should go from this date and wait 3 months ??

Was this your first work capability assessment?
If the fit note ran out on 15th Feb, what date did you provide your next fit note? sorry for all the questions but I can't give correct information unless the information you give is correct.

I have continuous sick notes sent in not missing any days , so the next sick note would of ran from the 16th Feb.
I had 3 assessments in total 2 telephones 1 video. I have a letter dated 05/04/2024 from the first assessment saying that I was capable of work. But I have got the same conditions as when they did award it. I asked for a copy of the report but never got one . Then I had another telephone assessment. Sorry can't remember date then a final video assessment in August. Why would they keep making me do assessments? I never made an appeal , I just asked for the notes. I had never heard of a lcwra payment at that time.

Thank you for the further information because it really helps to advise you correctly. I had assumed that this was your first assessment, which I why I advised that your first payment would be in July.
It does explain why you haven't yet received your first payment because the information I gave is now irrelevant.
As you were found fit for work the first time then it means your first payment will not be in July.
Was 10th May the date you were referred for the 2nd time? If so then your waiting period will be June to Sept.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 7th Sept to 6th October and first payment will be 13th October. No LCWRA element is owed.
You can also still challenge that first decision that you had back in April 2024 by requesting the Mandatory Reconsideration on your journal. You will need to give a reason why you didn't request this within the first month, if they refuse the late request you can proceed to Tribunal. If found to have LCWRA then you'll be owed money from July 13th.
