Musicians/Singers who have improved over 40 years

Susanna Hoffs, A-ha & Depeche Mode - I used to listen them in the 80's but they have got even better over the years. Freddy Mercury of course (had he not died)…

Kate Bush is a disappointment.

You can't say that about many singers (voices tend to get worse over 4 decades)..

Who have I missed ?

Oh I do love a bit of Depeche Mode! Their songs still sound amazing to this day.

Not quite 40 years, more like 30 years, but Skin from Skunk Anansie has matured into such an amazing and powerful singer.

I think female singers get better with age! Especially if they do a jazz vibe.

I do love Depeche Mode… I like quite a few bands from my parents days. My mum would often play Depeche Mode, Petshop Boys, Human League.

    I'm sorry!

I don't know if it's any consolation but I'm starting to understand how it feels a little maybe? I keep hearing things and going "wow that was only a few years ago" and somehow it was like 15 years ago 😶

michael, I also enjoy hearing The Seekers having grown up with them on our turntable 😊 some of the tracks still bring a little tear as this was an innocent time in my childhood and it never was again, of course.

I picked up a second-hand Beautiful South CD. Amazed at just how many great singles they released and recorded. It's playing now, thank you 😍
