You remind me of Jim McColl, who presented 'The Beechgrove Garden' for 41 years. He died aged 89 in 2024. That programme was the only time I ever took interest in horticulture.
I said it before, but the garden was joined to the BBC studio, in Aberdeen. It is said that it is the only BBC studio with a welly rack at reception!

Not perfect by a long shot but the birds and bees and butterflies enjoy it as much as us that's all that matters keeps me out of mischief so I keep telling my dawnie

Hi all, how do i get rid of this fungus in my garden and is it safe my cats go out there , thanks ?

Have a look at the gills underneath if they are white it's poisonous I would say there is a stump or wood underneath the spores can live for years and grow when triggered by wet conditions

Thank you, it was a dead tree and we cut it down, but the stump is still there . The issue we have is that we just laid turf two weeks ago and we cannot walk on the grass yet to get to have a look.
Either way how do we get rid of it please ?

Once the grass takes hold and the ground dries out the spores should go back to being dormant nothing to fret over you may get a surge of it until the stump has decomposed fully each late summer and autumn when it's wetter

A stunner - I say this as someone who is NOT into pink.
I think this should be mandatory viewing for Scope members. Morning and night.
