Universal credit back payment
Good evening,
I needed some advice in regards to my universal credit. I have been claiming universal credit since 2021 with my than Pathner.
In 2022 after relation breakdown i than claimed single. My pervious claim was closed and a new one opened just under my name.
In 2021 my son was awarded high rate DLA untill 2022.after that I didn't feel the need to claim as he improved. As my knowledge with benefit was very limited and mental health not the greatest with a disabled child I never asked Universal Credit for the career element or the disability element. therefore I never received that benefit.
Just recently I found out the entitlement and asked universal credit to have a look at this. I have attached the response they have gave. Please advice is there anything I can do.
Thank you x

You may want to contact Citizens Advice or Welfare Rights to seek advice but I think it would be very difficult to get UC paid in respect of the Carer Element and the Disability Element for your child for the period from 12.04.2021 to 12.04.2022 as this was so long ago. Did you claim Carers Allowance for that period?
