Rent
UPDATE: I didnt get any help from my council for housing after getting section 21 from landlord and landlord threatened to claim all the court charges back from me if proceeded for court eviction.
long story short found a suitable place 20 miles away from my previous place. Borrowed money from family and friends for deposite and moved to this new place.
Son who is my full time carer is on the tenenacy agreement. The rent payment approved by UC is half of the full rent. I have been told that my son can also claim UC to cover the rent as he is my full time carer. Can he be added to my claim or does he need to make a new claim?

Your son will need to start his own UC claim for help with housing costs. He may also be able to claim Carers Element through UC.

I see from a previous thread that your son was working part time. If he's still working I'd advise him to use a benefits calculator to check entitlement to UC before claiming. Whether there's any entitlement will depend on his circumstances. Any earnings he receives each month will reduce his UC by 55%.
As he's under the age of 35 then he will only be entitled to the shared rate of Local housing allowance if you're privately renting.
