hi all hope everyone ok. Can someone help please. My wife is my carer. She has just been awarded lcwra although it makes no financial difference. Can she still recieve carers allowance or will this go into u/c . I have notified u/c. My wife applied for pip in April. 6 points and 4 points awarded in July. Appealed straight away in July. Just been notified it should be dealt with by 08/12. Just letting you guys know what timescale we’re all up against. Thankyou for any info regarding above.

Hi @phil68 You might be better asking Admin to move your post to the Benefits Category as it might get missed here.
I am sorry I m not able to answer your question. Take care.

Hi @phil68 I've split off your question so it's now it's own separate discussion. 😊

Hi,
Carers Allowance is a separate benefit from UC. That can be claimed at the same time as LCWRA. However it is counted as income so gets deducted from UC, meaning you will not be any better off financially.
Many carers can claim the Carers Element of UC as an additional payment. However it is not possible for one person to claim both Carers Element and LCWRA. So your wife will not be able to claim that one unfortunately.
