UC migration letter

They don't require any bank statements to start the UC claim.
Some people are asked to provide 4 months worth of statements but that is for a separate check that is happening to existing UC claimants.
You will be asked to provide the amounts that you have in each bank account on the day you start the process though. So it's still good to know that. π

None when you change over.
If at any point your claim is selected at random for a compliance check, they usually ask for the previous 4 months worth.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your help

Thereβs no disability premiums payable when claiming UC. Your UC will include Transitional Protection if entitlement is less than what you previous benefits were.

Oh ok, so will I be worse of without the premiums that I'm currently receiving?
0 -
No, you wonβt be worse off when you migrate across because TP will be included if the UC figures are less than your current benefits.

Where did you go on holiday?

I wonder if anyone could kindly help me with this question, please.
So I get full housing benefit and includes services charges. When I claim UC do I put down what my total rent is including the charges so the put my weekly property rent amount?
Thank you

I think there is a separate box on the the form for things like service charges but can't remember 100% now.
The rent amount you put down for UC should match the one on your tenancy agreement - or the rent increase letter if it has increased since the start of your tenancy. They will ask for one of those as proof of housing costs.

They wonβt ask for proof of liability to pay rent if you rent from either social or council housing. They will contact your landlord directly.
Proof is only needed for privately renting.

Thank you Poppy, I'm in council property so that's easier. Thank you for your reply.

Eventually yes. Your amount will be frozen at what it is now because there will be no further inflation rises each April. If you also claim for housing costs you will see your money actually reduce because you will have to cover any rent rises yourself.
Another thing to note is that there are circumstances where you will lose all your TP involving if you have a change of circumstances & other things to do with earnings etc. If nothing changes for you then it will just be gradually eroded either by rising rents and/or relative to inflation.
Once your TP is fully eroded you will start to have the annual rise once more.Γ

Hi, Really need some advice please. I've completed my esa to UC migration. Payment not due until 28th November. Today, I've received a note on my journal stating that I have a job centre appointment on the 4th November, to do with commitments. I've mentioned several times on my journal that I'm migrating from esa support group to UC.
Is this normal???
Thanks in advance

Yes, you still need to accept the claimant commitments.
Your commitments should only be to check the journal regularly and update them of any changes.
It can be done online if you can't get to a Job Centre.

Great thank you so much, it just worries me. How do I do it online for the commitments.
Thanks you

You will have to leave a message on the journal to say that you can't get to the Job Centre. Then your work coach can change the commitments to online instead.
