Would working 16 hours effect my LCWRA?

I have been offered a position as part time
16 hours national wage,
Would this effect my lwcra ?

Hi,
Yes it will affect your overall UC. You do get a work allowance on LCWRA but 16 hours at minimum wage (assuming over 21) will be higher than that.
If you get Housing Element then it's £379 work allowance. Meaning you'd get around £200 deducted from UC each month.
If you don't claim housing costs then it's £631 allowance. Meaning you'd get around £80 deducted from UC each month.
Please be aware that working could trigger another assessment if the work you do contradicts the reason for LCWRA entitlement.

Those rates are for last year. The work allowance for this tax year is now £404 for lower amount and £673/month for the higher amount.

Thanks Poppy. I knew the minimum wage had increased but must have missed the work allowance increase.
That changes the deductions to around £190 and around £60 respectively.
