Hi, my name is Pattomo01! Adult daughter moving in, effects on UC?

Hi I'm new on here, I have just transitioned over to UC..
My eldest daughter who works full time has asked if she can move in permanent with me..
I am disabled & she stays a few nights a week as I need her help.. she's my daughter age 43 she's like my free carer.. I have arthritis & incontinence of the bowel so she's very good..
If I let her move in will my housing benefit or UC be changed? Thank you

Unless you're living in either supported or temporary housing then your rent will be paid in with your UC known as housing element, not housing benefit.
If you're currently claiming a disability benefit such as PIP/ADP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care then there will be no non dependant deductions for housing element.
If you currently live alone you will lose the single person discount for your council tax.

Hi @Pattomo01, welcome to the community 😊 I hope Poppy has reassured you about your Universal Credit amount.
Are you claiming PIP/ADP or DLA at all? If so then your daughter should also be eligible for Carers Allowance if she earns less than £151 a week.

Thank you guys..
I get full pip.
She earns a lot more than £151 a week.
