I got **** letter from my landlord saying dear Universal credit support and advice. We are aware some of our residents may receive a letter from dwp or HMRC referring to managed migration. Pause there me and my partner are got disability and we are British English white saying migration but I’m not. Go on this letter will explain that you will need to move from your current benefits to universal credit within 3 months out team help you best move. If I’m correct they not moveing esa to new benefit until 2029 but I rang up could be next year l. Labour government was a bad move vote for them they all don’t deserve to exist no government. Tax rich get money or tax benefits than stop who needs it really government lie and break law

Yes, they have changed the migration timescale for those claiming Income Related ESA, with or without housing benefit from 2028/29 to anytime from now up until December 2025. When you receive that letter you will have 3 months to claim UC.

It has been know for a few months because the previous Government announced it.

Migration refers to you migrating from ESA to Universal Credit. It has nothing to do with your ethnicity.

Many landlords are sending these letters to help their tenants because a large number of people are needing extra support when migrating from one benefit to another. A lot of landlords are finding their tenants not paying rent or not realising that rent is no longer claimed directly. As a result many are offering help to their tenants if they need extra support to make sure their migration to Universal Credit goes okay.

As advised on another thread that's not the migration letter that's a letter from your landlord advising you that they will help with the process when you do receive the letter. Please do not claim UC until you receive the official migration letter.
