Hi, my name is Tracy_Anne100! Loan for carpets

Hi
I’m Tracy age 57, I work as a registered nurse but unfortunately I’m off sick at this time.
I’ve been very fortunate to get a social housing flat after many years of living in one unsecure or unsuitable accommodation. This is amazing, no more damp affecting my asthma anymore.
The problem I have is that as my private rental had carpets and white goods I’ve had to start again.
I’ve managed to get a grant from the council to get a cooker and fridge and other bits off facebook marketplace.
carpets are the next problem, I’m never going to be able to afford them, I’ve looked into grants and loans but it’s been fruitless and I don’t want to borrow from a dodgy lender.
Does anybody know of a lender that is specifically for people on benefits? Some sort of budgeting loan. I’m hoping to get back to work but it won’t be for at least another 6 months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Tracy

Hi @Tracy_Anne100 and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you're off sick, I hope you get better soon 😊
You can apply for a Budgeting Loan if you've been on these benefits for at least 6 months
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Pension Credit
Or if you're on Universal Credit, you could apply for a Budgeting Advance, however this seems to be for emergencies. Apart from these options I'm unsure.
Have you looked into these options?
